Hey guys,
Just to feel this topic out, how do you all feel about Indiana's Sunday Prohibition Law?? I'm on the side of thinking it is a very old and out-dated law that needs at least to be amended... to what though I'm not certain. I know that there was a proposal to change it so that microbreweries and I believe wine produced iun Indiana would be available for purchase on Sundays. I never heard what the outcome was, but I am very interested in this topic. Let me know what you think!!
Thanks,
Joe Harrison

I think its good. a lot of companies (local) would benefit from the increased revenue. As it is right now, some people just go to Illinois to get their alcohol on Sunday's
ReplyDeleteI think it is a terrible idea to prohibit buying alcohol on Sundays. A lot of people have cookouts and get-together's on sundays for sporting events or holidays and in any other state people would be buying beer or wine for these occasions. The reason Indiana has this law is because it is supposed to be a day of rest in the Christian community, which is the majority of Indiana. By the state government supporting this, they are combining church and state and this is wrong. The law should not favor any one religion or belief. Liquor stores and grocery stores would love the profits that could be made on Sundays. It is annoying having to drive to Illinois when you want to relax and drink on the last day of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis topic would definitely be interesting to listen to. The separation of church and state is a big issue for several individuals in the United States. It's also very interesting that Indiana has held on to this old law for so long. I've heard that this law has been apposed before, but it'd definitely be interesting to see where they're at with this today.
